I had forgotten about those soft little magnets until recently when my fellow blogger Sarah, over at Mami's 3 Little Monkeys, was given the chance to review some cloth magnets from an Etsy store called 'Beyond the Seam'.
As for me personally, I think that the arrival of technology has really had a big impact in how our kids are playing - and not always in a good way! Computers, tablets, TV, and video games have far-too-often replaced board games, hide & seek, tag, and playing pretend.
While I do still allow my kids to watch TV, I think it would be nice if I implemented a few more old-fashioned toys and games. A cloth magnet set would be a nice start because my son is just now beginning to read and I would just love-love-love to be able to watch him sort through his first words right next to me. I work from home in my kitchen, so refrigerator magnets would be an easy way to keep him next to me while he figures things out!
