Are your elbows dry & scaly? Make them soft again with Adovia.

Adovia Dead Sea Salt Scrub Review

If I had to define my skin type, it would be "alligator". Although I can joke about my dry skin problems now, it wasn't always so easy. For years I struggled with embarrassment over my eczema, and I worried that some people wouldn't even like me because of it!

Despite finally being comfortable in my own skin (literally), I still do feel the occasional twinge of anxiety when I wear short-sleeves and realize that my dry elbows are showing. (And by dry I mean patched over with dead skin. Yucky, I know, but that's the reality.)

Because I'm a blogger through BrandBacker, goPure Naturals reached out to me to see if I'd like to review their Adovia Dead Sea Salt Scrub for free in exchange for a write-up. I was more than happy to do so, not only because I'm always looking for the next best thing to help my skin along, but because I've been struggling to find a really good body scrub.

My Body Scrub Experiences

In the past, most of the scrubs I have tried have left me feeling like I wasted my money. The scrubs with the rough particles always cut me up and make my elbows hurt, the scrubs with sugar usually disintegrate before they can do ANY good on my rough little elbows, and many of the scrubs have so much liquid in them that I feel that I'm just rubbing water around. Sure, there have been a couple of good ones out there - but they've happened so far and few between that it hasn't been easy for me to find something I really love.

Adovia Dead Sea Salt Scrub Review

I cannot even begin to tell you how impressed I was with this scrub. (Wait, yes I can... I'm doing it now!) As soon as I opened it I could tell that it smelled great. It wasn't an overpowering scent and it was a lot better than I expected! (Does anyone else get apprehensive that their body products will smell like a perfumed candle?!?)

I noticed immediately that the scrub was made up of a good amount of medium-fine salt and contained in a conditioning sort of liquid. I wasn't sure about the liquid at first since my experience with liquidy body scrubs has been that the liquid is the only thing I'm left smearing around my dry skin, but this was just the opposite. Never before has the actual scrubbing product stayed so firmly against my skin! I was able to scrub for several minutes without ever feeling the need to scoop more up, and even after rinsing with water I had to use a washcloth to remove the rest.

Elbow scrubs, get rid of dry elbows, how to get rid of dry skin, make elbows smooth

I loved the Adovia Scrub. Loved loved loved.

Not only did the Adovia scrub remove the dry skin from my elbow after one use, but my skin felt amazingly soft afterwards. Buttery soft. Even now as I reach back to feel my elbow (you know, just to make sure I wasn't imagining it) I am surprised at how wonderfully touchable my elbow feels. I would barely describe my face as being soft enough to touch. But my elbows? Touchable? Wonderfully touchable? Like a unicorn.

My Opinion?

In case you didn't notice, I think this product is the best thing to happen to elbows since long sleeves in winter. I highly suggest that if you struggle with dry elbows in any way, shape or form, you at least give them a try. The worst that can happen is that you think I'm a crazy lady (which is true, but not in this case!) and you move on in your quest for the perfect body scrub. Personally, I don't think you'll be moving anywhere though, because I've tried a LOT of body scrubs, and this one is incredible.

Where to buy?

I thought you'd never ask! (You see what I did there?) Adovia can be purchased from goPure Naturals on Amazon, and I'd love it if you'd use my affiliate link HERE so that I can earn a commission on your purchase!
